From the Doubletree Inn A shuttle will start making trips from the Doubletree Inn at 3:30pm to take people to the First Congregational Church. It will also take people to the reception at the Tokeneke Club and then back to the hotel until 11:55pm. After that, you can hitch a ride with someone or call a taxi service at (203) 655-2266.
From NYC by Train From Grand Central Station take Metro-North Railroad (New Haven Line)to the Darien Train Station in Connecticut. We recommend the 3:07pm train which will put you in Darien at 4pm. Note: There are two train stations in Darien—the Noroton Heights station and the Darien Station. You want the Darien station.
The church is about a 10-15 minute walk up Post Road from the station if you’d like to try it (Google Map of Route— this is by car, switch to walking on the page). You can also email Claire_Karpen@yahoo.com to let me know if you need a ride. We should be able to arrange for someone to pick you up and then to take you back to the station at the end of the night.
You can also use the Taxi service at the train station to take you to the church or to call later to get back to the station from the reception at:
Keep in mind the last train to NYC leaves at 12:29am. To be safe, we recommend you double check the Metro-North schedule to confirm train times.
Driving from the First Congregational Church Take Brookside to the first traffic light (church on your right). Take a left onto the Boston Post Rd (Rt. 1). Follow under railroad bridge and take the a left at the SECOND traffic light. Take a left at the stop sign, then a right at the next stop sign onto Tokeneke Road.
Go about a mile and turn right onto Five Mile River Road, right before a Gas Station. After 300 yards the road will fork, bear right onto Old Farm Road. After another 300 yards, Old Farm veers right, but you will continue straight through two stone pillars on to Searles Rd. Continue straight for ˝ mile until you go over a small stone bridge with water on both sides. Take an immediate left directly after the bridge onto Tokeneke Beach Drive. The Club is at the end of this road, at the intersection of Butlers Island Road. |
